Canada trip - Day two

We slept until 10:00 (it was heavenly)! Then we went to the local school and made plans to play music at their school for a day. We decided on tomorrow, which is something we're all fearfully bracing ourselves for. The children up here are wild and loud (nothing like our own lovely, southern homeschoolers) which is a little daunting for we two inexperienced girls.

Mr. Rinker has a tiny church beside his house which we spent several hours cleaning. Unfortunately, it was very dusty and long before the church was satisfactorily clean we all had to go back to the house to save our sinuses.

Around supper time, Mr. Rinker, Daddy, Lorien and Morgen all took a trip around the neighborhood to pick up children for Fiddle Camp. By the time they got back, children were packed into the tiny mini-van like sardines. Thus Fiddle Camp began, growing steadily by the minute. Pretty soon a homeschool family with 10 children arrived and the Cockmans started to feel at home.

One of the only real issues we've run into here in Canada is verbal communication. We all speak "English", sure, but these people have no idea what the word "y'all" means!

During Fiddle Camp, we all had a very important role to play. Arwen and Daddy taught fiddle (advanced and beginner at the same time) while Lorien taught piano, Mama controlled those under the age of 8, Morgen loved everybody to death and Mr. Rinker served ice cream.

Finally, we got in bed around 11:00pm, though our brains were saying 1:00am. We're all looking forward to a full day of playing music for hyper school children tomorrow. Please pray that we would have patience and understanding and that God will protect us all from food poisoning (we're eating lunch in the cafeteria)! :)
