Canada trip - Day three

This morning we woke up bright and early, prepared (well, sort of prepared) for a day full of music and wild school children. We all got hurriedly packed up and jumped in the van. When we reached the school we were all surprised to see a horse grazing in the front lawn. No one else seemed to
notice it except us, and we soon learned that horses here often graze in public places.

Over the course of the next six hours, we played music for seven different classes. It was pretty exhausting, though by the end we knew the whole routine so well, we were practically doing it in our sleep. The only breaks we got were at 11:00 when one teacher forgot to bring her students to us, and then at 12:00  when everybody ate lunch in the cafeteria. The food was pretty good!

Finally, at 3:25pm, the final bell rang and it was time to head back to the mission. But the day wasn’t over! We still had Fiddle Camp, and so as soon as we got back to Mr. Rinker’s house, we started preparing for that. This time, Fiddle Camp was a lot more organized. Daddy taught fiddle in the Tent (which was more like a greenhouse meant for people instead of plants), while Arwen and Lorien taught piano in the house and church. The song of the night was God is so Good, and while we kept saying that we were going to get the piano players and fiddlers to play it all together, that never happened. After classes were over, all the kids played tag and frisbee outside.

Toward the end of the evening, a group of Korean believers from Calgary arrived to stay the night with the children. After fellowshipping and praying with everyone, we said goodnight and retired to Mr. Rinker’s house. However, we were all up later than intended: Mama helping Mrs. Rinker, Arwen cleaning, Daddy working and Lorien playing the piano. Finally, we all got in bed, prepared for another big day tomorrow.
