California Vacation 2013 - Day 4

Today we left Big Sur and made our way to San Francisco. Before we left, we hiked up to the top of the East Molera trail in the Andrew Molera SP. What a view! We then took the old Coast Road around through the El Sur Ranch and back out to Hwy 1. From there we continued to Monterey. On the way to north, we stopped in Morgan Hill and had one of the best pizzas we've every had at My Pizza. We met the founder, Hamdey Altayyeb, who made sure that we had a wonderful experience. If you are traveling up the CA coast, you have to stop there. From there we drove to Walnut Creek, home of Uncle Chris, Aunt Jenny, and Boone! We arrived just in time for Boone's birthday.

Goodbye to our campsite at Big Sur!

The girls clamber up to the base of this giant redwood

We found some cheap gas on the way out of town!

High above the sea on the East Molera Trail. We were worn out after 2 miles at a 16% grade! But the views were rewarding.

Lorien and Daddy overlooking the sea.

Some cattle at El Sur Ranch on the back side of the East Molera trail.

We met several bovine roadblocks on the Coast Road

Driving through a redwood grove

Bixby Creek Bridge

You really can't tell from the picture how high above the sea we are. Those are huge rocks down there.

Above the Bixby Creek Bridge

Daddy brought blueberries for Boon!

Boone's new Bike.

Happy Birthday Boone! Boone helped us air out our camping gear.

How beautiful! Once again it just goes to show how much God loves beauty, which in turn tells us something about God himself - that he is beautiful.
It must be so much fun to climb on all those rocks, trees, mountains and beaches. And I bet the breezes feel wonderful!
