California Vacation 2013 - Day 3

Today was very relaxing! We had a beautiful Sunday morning drive up and down the coast, then stopped and hiked to the McWay waterfall. This is the jewel of the California Coast, in our opinion. We also visited Andrew Molera SP and hiked to a beautiful secluded beach. Tomorrow we want to come back here and hike the loop trail. After we left there, Mama wanted to find a trail she had seen yesterday from the car window. After some searching, we found it. It was amazing! It followed a fast creek down the mountain and into the ocean. There was a tunnel through a high narrow rock, and on the other side was a deep bay full of sea caves. Afterward we returned to camp for some spaghetti.

We could not believe the beauty at McWay Waterfall

The Steller's Jay was everywhere

The trails in the Andrew Molera SP had no bridges due to spring flooding! There will be seasonal footbridges in place by mid-June.

We saw lots of snakes on the Creamery Meadow Trail

A hike led us to this beautiful, secluded beach

We're not sure what this is, but it pops when you step on it

More snakes!

Mama gets a lift back across the creek

We were almost afraid to go into this old wooden tunnel!

You can see the tunnel in the lower left

A gorgeous little creek running into a rocky ocean bay.

It seems like ya'll are having a great time! It looks beautiful, wonderful and fun! I would love to go to those places, or places like them. It looks so... so... well amazing. And it seems like its such a testimony to the Creator God. How could something so glorious come out a bang of confusion? I'm sure your hearts must sing praises to our awesome Creator who, although it is fallen into sin, gave us such a beautiful world!

Arwen, I missed you at literature today, I'm sure you would have added a lot to this conversation in particular. It was really great!

I love and miss ya'll! Thank you for keeping us posted on your trip! Its really fun to see!
Love,
Grace
