Day Six: Palo Duro Canyon, TX, to Albuquerque, NM: 320 miles

Today we made our final push into to Albuquerque! We were very sad to say goodbye to Palo Duro Canyon, but we have many great memories -- and photographs! We took a six mile hike to "Lighthouse Peak." The peak is at the end of a narrow causeway that gives spectacular views of the canyon below.

Sant Anna's Face

side-tracking

We couldn't believe how crumbly the rock was!

We're pretty sure Wile E. Coyote lives around here somewhere

Lorien surveys the trail

Some rare vegetation

A beautiful view of the canyon rim

Almost there!

On the causeway. It was a long way down on either side!

this was a wonderful hike

Once in Albuquerque, we checked into the hotel then visited Old Town Albuquerque. We then picked Daddy up at the airport, and went back to the Old Town to eat at the Quesadilla Grill, owned by one of the original Albuquerque Spanish Families.
